In this season of Black Lives Matter, controversial officer-involved shootings, and simmering racial tension, one is compelled to consider the present events thoroughly and probably find solutions. In considering the events, one question becomes unavoidable why has the black man always been subject to all kinds of brutality? Trying to answer this question leads one to another question; is there something wrong with the black man? Here is an attempt to answer these questions with glances into the past, a survey of the present, and a hopeful proposal for the future. This answer is driven by personal experiences. It covers not only African Americans but all of the black race and addresses follow-up questions like What is the role of God? What is the effect of racism and other external factors? And, more importantly, where do we go from here?

I loved reading this book! It brought back nostalgic memories of my childhood, growing up in West Africa and the simplicity of the good old days. The book delves into many issues affecting Africans in diaspora and Blacks in America. It proposes hypotheses that are tenuous at times, but very interesting and probing, thus providing different perspectives to the question that the book asks. I didn't want the book to end. I would recommend the book to people interested in a first-hand account of life growing up in Nigeria in the 1990's. Looking forward to seeing the creative growth of this new author!!!

Absolutely a must read from a true gent friend and brother. 5 stars in all ramifications.
I was inspired by this book - not just as a black person, but as a person period.
It was an infusion of biblical and traditional wisdom. I thoroughly enjoyed reading every page!
From the moment I downloaded this eBook (on my daughter's ), I couldn't scan through the eBook fast enough to see what this book was all about….but once I sat down and read the book, then I realized the magnitude of exceptional talent and knowledge this author has for defining what hope is or what it could be. As I am a person who grew up in the 60’s, back when busing black children from Watts CA to miles away from their home, into attend white neighborhoods schools…. was prevalent in the Los Angeles school system, that’s when I realized there were many issues associated with skin color and societal attempt to find solutions regarding racial prejudice. I will admit that I didn’t understand racial prejudice, where it came from and even today – why is it still here… Reading this book provided me a deeper understanding and the ability to visualize an in depth viewpoint of what it means to black. This book provides candid thoughts, and experiences from the author and uses Biblical references to explain. As ignorant as I was regarding those specific Biblical references that are noted, this book opened my eyes to a new depth of understanding. I believe everyone should read this book and thank you to the Author for his devotion to sharing this significantly important topic and to hope.
