As a veteran myself, and married to a veteran, I can honestly say this book captures the essence of the feelings of children who have a parent that is deployed. Thanks for a vehicle for them to express themselves!
I absolutely loved this book. My son was 5 when my ex-Husband was shipped to South Korea. Trying to explain everything was a daunting task and since he was so young I wanted to try and o it in a creative way. This book was perfect. I totally suggest it to all families.
This wonderful little book lets you discuss the topic of having relatives in the service. My 4-year old niece can understand what her friends experience when they have to say goodbye to a loved one and miss them while they are away. In this way, we don't have to necessarily be a military family ourselves, but we can talk about supporting other families who are!
An adorable book for kids and families where mommy, daddy or a relative are in the military and deployed or far away from home. I love the illustrations and my children adore the story. A must-have for kids in the military life or to help them understand the nature of the job!
